Abstract

The datasetcontainsthermalpropertiesofsoilsuchasthermal conductivity, thermaldiffusivity, temperatureandspecific heat capacity inanagriculturalfarmwithintheUniversityofIbadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.Thedatawereacquiredinforty(40)sampling points usingthermalanalyzercalledKD-2Pro.Soilsamplestaken at thesesamplingpointswereanalyzedinthelaboratoryfortheir moisture contentfollowingthestandardreferenceofAmerican Association ofStateHighwayandTransportOfficials (AASHTO) T265. Thedatawereacquiredwithinthe first andsecondweeksin the monthofApril,2012.Statisticalanalyseswereperformedon the datasettounderstandthedata.Thedataismadeavailable publicly becausethermalpropertiesofsoilshavesignificant rolein understanding thewaterretentioncapacityofsoilandcouldbe helpful for proper irrigation water management
