Abstract

In thisinvestigation,thedatasetpresentedwillgiveimportant information tounderstandtheareaofcuttingtoolwearduring turning operations,toolnatureisthemostdifficult tasksinman- ufacturing process,particularlyinthelocomotiveindustry.With the viewtooptimizethecuttingparameters,thetestswerecarried out toinvestigatetoolwearonhighspeedsteel(HSS)during turning operationofaluminium1061alloyandtodeveloped mathematical modelsusingleastsquaresmethod.Thecutting parameterschosenforthisinvestigationarecuttingspeed,feed rate,andradialdepthofcutwereusedasinputparametersin order topredicttoolwear.Theexperimentwasdesignedbyusing full factorial33 in which27sampleswereruninaFanuc0iTCCNC lathe. Aftereachtest,scanningelectronmicroscope(SEM)isused to measurethecuttingtoolinothertodeterminethetoolwear
