Abstract

Different typesofexplant(leaf,nodalandpetioleexplant)from in vitrogrownplantmaintainedonMurashigeandSkoog(MS) medium, wereculturedonMSmediumsupplementedwithvar- ious concentrationsof2,4-Dichlorophenoxyaceticacid(2,4-D) (0, 0.5,1.0,1.5and2.0mg/l)indarkcondition.Dataoncallus formation wasrecordedon10daysafterculture.Numberof explantsformingcallus,calluscolourandtypewererecorded.The plant growthregulator-freemediawhichservedasthecontrol induced etiolationresultinginlonghypocotylsfromthenodal explants.
