Abstract
Manufacturing is usually a large-scale production of components or goods that transforms raw materials and components into finished merchandise using traditional or modern methods. In the whole of history, manufacturing procedures have evolved remarkably. The advent of the advanced manufacturing system is generally likened to the utilization of innovative concepts to enhance the production of items with the applicable innovation being depicted as “cutting edge,” “creative ‘or’ bleeding edge.” Modern manufacturing processes were believed to impose some environmental threat and economic performance, hence, it is important to investigate how to mitigate these concerns and improve the manufacturing techniques. This chapter considers the progress made in manufacturing up to date and identify where the art of manufacturing is today as regards advanced manufacturing.
