Abstract

The global communities are in desperate need of protection from the ever-changing landscape arising from urbanization and industrialization. These economic development activities involve the establishment of industries and providing basic infrastructures such as buildings, roads, dams and construction of electric power plant to provide access to housing. These infrastructures come with safe, affordable, accessible and sustainable transport systems with other basic amenities for sustainable cities, which is one of the targets towards achieving the sustainable development goals of the United Nations. The execution of these projects is usually associated with negative effects on the environment (air, water, plants and animals). In this regard, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is an important legislative and scientific tool that lends quality assistance to decision-making for sustainable development. A full examination of the conceptual project phases and a corresponding analysis of the potential impacts would enhance the actual developments and implementations of all projects sustainably.
