Abstract

Abstract: Continuous process improvement is a requirement for overall effective performance of a manufacturing system. Project monitoring and evaluation concept is contextualized in continuous process improvement in manufacturing setting to gain insight into the efficacy of the approach in the manufacturing environment. This paper aims to appraise recent advances in the literature on sustainable manufacturing performance using project monitoring and evaluation technique. The review provides a holistic view of how project monitoring and evaluation method can be integrated into evaluating sustainable manufacturing performance. The review demonstrates that certain characteristics such as continuous process review in project monitoring and evaluation can be applied to manufacturing settings to enhance the overall manufacturing performance which guarantees sustainable manufacturing system. Consequently, the approach act as an index for overall sustainable manufacturing performance because it identifies and solves manufacturing problems continuously.
