Abstract
Efficient broadbandInternetaccessisrequiredforoptimalpro- ductivity insmartcampuses.BesidesaccesstobroadbandInternet, deliveryofhighspeedandgoodQualityofService(QoS)are pivotaltoachievingasustainabledevelopmentintheareaof education. Inthisdataarticle,trendsandpatternsofthespeedof broadband InternetprovidedinaNigerianprivateuniversity campus arelargelyexplored.Datatransmissionspeedanddata receptionspeedweremonitoredandrecordedondailybasisat CovenantUniversity,Nigeriaforaperiodoftwelvemonths(Jan- uary–December,2017).Thecontinuousdatacollectionandlogging wereperformedattheNetworkOperatingCenter(NOC)ofthe universityusingSolarWindsOrionsoftware.Descriptivestatistics, correlation andregressionanalyses,ProbabilityDensityFunctions (PDFs), CumulativeDistributionFunctions(CDFs),Analysisof Variance (ANOVA)test,andmultiplecomparisonpost-hoctestare performed usingMATLAB2016a.Extensivestatisticalvisualiza- tions oftheresultsobtainedarepresentedintables,graphs,and plots. Availabilityofthesedatawillhelpnetworkadministratorsto determine optimalnetworklatencytowardsefficient deployment of high-speedbroadbandcommunicationnetworksinsmart campuses.
