Abstract
The Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) embarked on a project to build a house whose major components will be sourced from Nigeria. Tagged the “Made in Nigeria House”, the aim was to give wide publicity to the research and development activities at NBRRI. The first of such life scale demonstration buildings was designed and constructed in Kano, Nigeria by the institute in 1997. This paper documents the processes involved in this effort and feedback from the field.
