Abstract
This studyexaminestheimpactoftheinteractionsbetween fiscal andmonetarypoliciesonstockmarketbehaviour(ASI)and the impactofthevolatilityoftheseinteractionsontheNigerianstockmarket.ThestudyanalysedmonthlydatausingtheARDL and EGARCHmodels.Theresultsshowtheinteractionbetweenmonetaryand fiscal policiesinfluence onstockmarketreturnsin Nigeria. TheARDLresultsshowevidenceoflongrunrelationshipbetweenASIandMonetary-fiscal policies.Theresultsfromthe volatility estimatesshowthattheASIvolatilityislargelysensitivetovolatilityintheinteractionsbetweenthetwopolicy instruments. Theresultssuggestcalibratingboththemonetaryand fiscal policiesinasinglemodelwhenformulatingstockmarket policy astheirinteractionexertssignificantly onstockmarketbehaviour,thusbothpoliciesshouldbeconsideredintandem.
