This is especially useful in the design of large institutional buildings which require the resolution of complex spatial problems. It is a sequential method of design consisting of six major steps. It has been tested in three schools of Architecture in Nigeria and found to be beneficial in several ways. A review of the application of the method so far in these institutions is presented. The study identified the aspects of the method which contain useful computational benefits for the improvement of BIM software by incorporating Predictive Design Capabilities (PDC). These aspects include space derivation ratio (SDR), functional analysis and conceptualization are useful additions to BIM when integrated. The paper concludes with the idea that a successful incorporation of the method in BIM can improve architectural design and building construction.
