"One of the good qualities of a world class university\r\nis their high standard examination procedures. This paper\r\nattempts to optimize the examination procedures in a potential\r\nworld class university by minimizing the major variables: time,\r\ncost and human resources involved in the examination conduct.\r\nCovenant University, the best private university in Nigeria, is\r\nused as a case study. The examination procedures covering\r\nconduct of examination at Covenant University, were modelled\r\nas a linear programming with time, cost and human resources\r\nas our decision variables. The constraint, including the nonnegativity\r\nconstraint, were carefully formed. The standard\r\nform of the model is solved using Simplex method with the aid\r\nof a computer software - LIP Solver, which was used to\r\nevaluate the feasible solutions from the initial tableau. It was\r\nobserved that some of the decision variables such as time to\r\ncorrect examination questions and address examination\r\nmisconducts must be deemphasized, while decision variables\r\nsuch as time to admit students into the examination hall and\r\ntime to verify students’ identity in order to admit them into the\r\nexamination hall should be given priority in order to optimize\r\nthe resources related to the examination conduct at Covenant\r\nUniversity."^^ .
