Abstract
The wallswhichformtheenvelopeofabuildingareveryimpor- tant, therefore,thechoiceofmaterialsusedforitisveryimportant. The datasetpresentsacomparativeanalysisofdifferentwalling materials usedinresidentialbuildingsinadevelopingeconomy. The datawaspresentedusingdescriptivetoolsof figures and tables. ThedatasetwasobtainedwithinseveralpartsinLagos State,Nigeria.Thedatasetshowedtheawarenessandrateofuseof selected wallingmaterialsbyhomeownersinresidentialapart- ments. Furthermore,acomparativeanalysisofthecostimplication of usingeight(8)differentwallingmaterialsinatypicaltwo(2)- bedroom residentialbuildingwascarriedout.Usingamarket surveyarmedwithcurrentprices,abillofquantitiesshowedthe varyingcostofdifferentwallingmaterialsforresidentialbuildings. The datasetwhenanalyzedcanhelpinunderstandingthe dynamics ofprovidingaffordablehousingindevelopingecono- mies.
