Abstract

The articlecontainsdatasetsbuiltonabaselinestudyontheselected physicochemicalparametersandWaterQualityIndexofUbogoand EginiRivers,DeltaState,foraperiodofsixmonths,spanningthetime framebetweenFebruary-July,2010.Withinthisspace,sixstations weresharedequallyamongthetworiversusingthethreecommu- nities they flowthroughasguide,andwatersampleswerecollected on monthlybasisfromthesestations.Theobjectivesincludedeter- mination ofthespatialvariationsandbackgroundconcentrationsof the selectedphysicochemicalparameters.Sixteenphysicochemical parameterswereanalyzedinthewater.Currentvelocity,airand watertemperatureweredeterminedin-situ;therestphysicochem- icalparametersweredeterminedviaadoptingstandardmethods. Apart fromturbidity,thevaluesoftherestphysicalparameters – air and watertemperature,TDSshowedsignificant difference(p o 0.05) acrossthestations.
