Abstract

The datapresentedinthisresearchshowtheresultsofthe experimentalstudyofacousticbehaviourofcoconut fibrereinforcedconcrete(CFRC).TheCFRCwasaddedinpercentages of 0.25%,0.5%,0.75%and1%ofcement.Theacoustictestwas conducted todeterminetheamountofsoundthatcanbeabsorbed by the fibre. Thedatashowedthattheconcretereinforcedwith coconut fibre hadthehighestsoundabsorptivepower,ofwhich fibre treatedabsorbedmoresoundthanother fibres, thisis because washingof fibre increasethelignincontentwhichis responsible forthesoundabsorbingproperty.Thedataalso showedthatthecuringtimehadnoeffectontheabsorbing property oftheCFRC.Thedatapresentedwillbeusefulinthe construction ofsoundproofreinforcedconcreteslabs,wallsand other elements.
