Abstract
This paper compares the thermal performance of different building materials when used to construct a residential building in Kano. These materials are conventional building materials which are currently widely used in the area and the new alternative building materials being introduced by NBRRI. Research methods used include simulations and mathematical calculations using appropriate that the alternative building materials respond more favourably to thermal conditions in the study area.
