Abstract
The paper identifies the vital role of the Construction Industry to the national economy and how such role can be enhanced. The paper briefly examines the Nigerian Construction Industry. It identifies. It identifies the importance of standardization of activities in the sector and the vital role research and development have to play in this regard. Finally it makes recommendations to enhance effective R&D in the sector.
