Abstract
The steel NST 60Mn Is popular among the Indigenous steel produced and used in the construction indusuy in as roted condition. However. It Is necessary to know the elfect of quenching and normalising on the tensile test parameters of mechanical propetJes !nch;C!r!g the WO(~<·hardening behaviour of this stH!. Such iolawledge would au is! in using this steel in ot'ler rr.anufacturing sectors. From thr.? study, !he results showli!IJ! the normalized samples have higher dut:m'r.1 than th!' quenched ones. This h~s been aHriou!~ to the transformation to ferrlle and little of pecrlite phases during normalisation.
