Abstract

The datainthisarticlecontainsstatisticalanalysisofradioelement in Odo-Oba flood plainofcrystallinebedrock,Southwestern Nigeria. Thedatawereacquiredalongtwenty-twotraverses.The length ofeachtraverseisafunctionofitsaccessibilityinthestudy area. Thetraversescoveredtheareausedforagriculturalpractices and theareawherethesefarmproductsarebeingsoldtoeither the retailersortheconsumers.Descriptiveandmultivariatesta- tistical analyseswereusedtoexplorethemeasuredemitted gamma radiationinOdo-Oba flood plain.Thedatasetcanprovide insights intotherisksinvolvedinexposuretooutdoorradiationin a commercialcentrewhentheaverageoutdoorgammaradiation levels arecomparedtotheglobalthresholdvaluesfromthereg- ulatory bodiessuchasWorldHealthOrganization,National ResearchCouncil,UnitedStatesEnvironmentalProtectionAgency, FederalEnvironmentalProtectionAgency,InternationalCommis- sion onRadiologicalProtection,theUnitedNationsScientific Committee ontheEffectsofAtomicRadiation,andFederalRadia- tion ProtectionServiceamongothers
