Abstract
Innovation as the major part of green entrepreneurship has not been given adequate attention in research; this has led to the backwardness of green entrepreneurship especially in Nigeria. Technology acquisition, diffusion and transfer are difficult and expensive. This study therefore focuses on how technological innovation can lead to the sustainability of green entrepreneurship. The specific objectives of this study are to identify the relationship between research & development and social impact, to ascertain if there is a significant relationship between network capacity and environmental preservation. This study employs the use of descriptive research design and data was collected through questionnaire administered to the employees of green entrepreneurs in public-private partnership with Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA). The respondents are a sample size of 400 drawn from a population of 1157. A total number of 294 questionnaires were collected and analysed using the SPSS version 20.0 Pearson’s correlation and simple linear regression analysis were adopted for the statistical analysis. The findings revealed that research and development has a significant relationship with social impact at r= 0.632**, p<0.001, network capacity and environmental preservation have significant correlation with each other at r =0.690**, p<0.001. This study concluded that technological innovation in waste management is required for sustainable green entrepreneurship. Information and communication technology should be employed to facilitate the contributions of technological innovation to green entrepreneurship. The researcher therefore recommends that private organizations and the government should continue to mobilize appropriate equipment for recycling operations thereby leading to effective management of waste; also the network capacity of the concerned firms should be widened for the preservation of the environment.
